Rome is one of my favorite cities in the Europe. My love for Rome started with a tour at the Colosseum, where the guide told the most amazing stories about what happened here. There was so much history there compared to New Zealand, where I grew up.

I have visited Rome a few times since that first visit. One such time was when my parents came to Europe for my wedding. I had to show them Rome. We went on several evening walks to walk off dinner and one night passed the Colosseum. It was all lit up, highlighting the architectural details of the windows and arches.

The color palette and the design of this quilt was inspired by this night view of the Colosseum.
