Study No. 3
Study No. 3 is part of a series that was exploring the use of large scraps and color interaction. This piece was where I explored what a color grid would look like for me. Once finished I could see it being a rectangular color wheel. This gave direction to the quilting where the lines change direction around the quilt.
This series of explorations was influenced by works by Stanley Whitney who explored abstract grids and color.
